Adjusting Pool Cleaner Pressure

As a pool owner, you’ve likely researched different pool cleaners to keep your pool healthy and vibrant.

For models that primarily utilize water pressure to clean, such as the ever-popular Polaris Quattro, there may be times when you’ll have to adjust the pool cleaner pressure to ensure your device is functioning optimally.

Pool pressure side cleaners that work from your central circulation require the pushing through of a lot of water to keep them functioning. Sometimes, you may have to adjust the water pressure for the best result.

How to Adjust Cleaner Pressure

When adjusting pool cleaner pressure, you’ll first have to pinpoint which valve manages the water flow to the pool cleaner and which valves control other elements of the pool’s equipment, such as water features.

Once you have identified what your valves control, you can send more water to the cleaner by turning the cleaner pressure valve up and the others down or off.

WORD OF CAUTION

Adjust the valves with the pump on, and watch the pressure gauge very closely as you change them. If the pressure increases, rapidly return the valve to its original position. Serious injury may occur if pressure exceeds the manufacturer's recommendations.
